Lesson Policies & Terms of Service

Please review these policies carefully before booking lessons, purchasing packages, or requesting services from Kuni’s Japanese.

1. Cancellation Policies

1.1 Student-Initiated Cancellations

  • Students may cancel a scheduled lesson by giving at least 24 hours’ notice to the instructor.
  • Cancellations made under 24 hours prior to a scheduled lesson may be charged at the full lesson rate.
  • Any cancelled lesson must be rescheduled within 7 days from the original scheduled lesson date, subject to the tutor’s availability.
  • Only one cancelled lesson is allowed per booking. Any subsequent cancellation may be charged at the full rate.

1.2 Completion Window for Purchased Lessons

Any purchased lesson hours must be completed within 60 days, starting from the date of the first scheduled lesson. Failure to complete booked hours within this 60-day period will result in the student forfeiting any remaining hours, and no refund will be given.

2. Refund Policies

Refunds will be made to the account or payment method from which the fees were originally received.

2.1 Full Refund

A full refund may be granted if written notice is submitted at least 72 hours prior to the first scheduled lesson.

2.2 Partial Refund

A partial refund may be granted up to the second lesson. Written notice must be submitted no later than 24 hours before the second scheduled lesson begins. A prorated amount, minus a $35 cancellation fee, will be refunded.

2.3 No Refund

No refund or partial refund will be given after the student completes the second lesson.

3. Books and Learning Materials

Some courses may require the purchase of books or other learning materials. All required books and materials must be purchased by the student. Supplemental learning materials may be provided by the teacher.

Prior to starting lessons, the teacher will inform the student of any required books or materials. Kuni’s Japanese maintains a list of recommended books and learning resources, which can be found on this website.

4. Expectations of Students

  • Students are expected to stay involved in the learning process by maintaining communication with the teacher.
  • Students understand that self-study is required between lessons to support steady progress.
  • The teacher is available to answer questions and provide clarification if the student is having difficulties.
  • Kuni’s Japanese cares about each student’s learning progress. Students are encouraged to share feedback about the lessons and teaching style.
  • The teacher may periodically provide evaluations of the student’s learning progress.
